These very concepts, Hellinism and Orthodoxy, come together in Albania. Our suffering yet always vigorous compatriots experience of these ideas was and is tragic. They have lived for years with the ideas of Christ and the homeland in their souls. Ο Γεώργιος Κ. Γιακουμής γεννήθηκε στην Πάτρα το 1945 και σπούδασε στη Φιλοσοφική Σχολή του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών. Είναι φιλόλογος και διευθυντής Εστίας Τιράνων του Ιδρύματος Ελληνικού Πολιτισμού.
Από το 1971 έχει εκδώσει βιβλία ιστορικού, φιλολογικού και διδακτικού ενδιαφέροντος. Κατά καιρούς έχει αρθρογραφήσει σε εφημερίδες και περιοδικά όπως: "Το Βήμα", ο "Οικονομικός Ταχυδρόμος", "Δελτίο Ηπειρωτικής Εταιρείας" κ.ά.).
Παράλληλα διδάσκει πάνω από δέκα χρόνια στα "Εκπαιδευτήρια Δούκα" σε μαθήματα της ειδικότητάς του.
