The Archaeological Museum of Rhodes is housed in the medieval Great Hospital built by the Knights of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem in the 15th century. The origins of the Order lay in Crusader Palestine, where the Knights protected pilgrims and looked after those who fell ill in their hospitals.
